More than 100 industrial robots run in this plant every working day, on load and unload, transfer, dispensing, screw driving and inspection. The cells were built for our own production first. What we offer customers is the same engineering applied to their process instead of ours.
Robots in our own plant
The robots are distributed across post-SMT, assembly and test, working with conveyors and fixtures in continuous operation. Any station with a repeating motion, a fixed cycle time and a tight requirement on manual consistency is a candidate for automation. Operators stay where judgement is needed: exception handling, first article confirmation and the decisions a machine cannot make.
SCARA work cells
SCARA robots are fast at planar pick and place: short travel, short cycle time, stable repeatability. They suit through-hole (DIP) component feeding, screw driving, dispensing, label application and small-part transfer. Several SCARA cells are in service here, each built around one process step. Changing product means changing the fixture and the program. The cell itself is reused.
Line integration
Stations are laid out to your process flow, with robots, conveyors, inspection and marking tied together under one control system. Cycle time analysis comes first, to find the bottleneck and decide which steps are worth automating. Automating a whole line is not always the cheaper answer. Where a simple mechanism will do the work, we specify the simple mechanism and say so in the quotation.
Load and unload with vision-guided placement
Load and unload stations use vision guidance. A camera measures the actual position and angle of the part and sends the coordinates to the robot, so incoming parts do not have to be presented in a fixed orientation and the positional accuracy demanded of trays and totes drops. Where parts of similar shape are easy to confuse, the same camera identifies the part number and stops the wrong one going into the machine.
Custom workstations and fixtures
We design and build dedicated automation stations to your product and your volume: mechanism design, jigs and fixtures, pneumatics and electrical control, robot selection, programming and commissioning. CNC machining and 3D printing in-house produce the fixture bodies and verification parts, so a revision does not wait on an outside supplier. Each station is run here before shipment until cycle time and yield are proven.
Machine-vision inspection
Vision stations judge appearance and assembly completeness: missing or wrong parts, reversed orientation, missing screws, wrong labels, surface damage. Each becomes a pass or fail criterion, and a failing unit is rejected at the station and flagged. Vision does not replace AOI and X-ray. Vision looks at assembly and appearance, AOI and X-ray look at solder joints and at what sits under the package. Products that need both get both.
What automation buys: consistency and traceability
The first benefit is that motion does not vary. Torque, dispensed volume and cycle time do not change with the operator or the shift, so batch-to-batch variation falls. The second is the record. Work order, material lot, test results and vision verdicts are stored against each unit, so a field problem can be traced by barcode back to the station and the time window that produced it, rather than quarantining a whole month of output.
