Box build is the back end: PCBA, cables, mechanical parts and enclosure assembled into a finished unit, then functionally tested, burned in, packed and shipped. There is a box build line and a manual assembly line here. Box build can be ordered on its own, or run continuously with our SMT and through-hole lines, so a product goes from bare board to sealed carton on one site.
Final assembly
Before the line starts, the assembly process sheet is written from your drawings and reference sample: work broken down by station, screw specification and torque, assembly sequence, label positions and cosmetic requirements. Engineering and quality sign off the first unit together before the rest of the batch is built. A drawing change mid-run goes through a change note, and superseded documents are pulled from the stations at once, so two revisions never run side by side.
Cable and mechanical assembly
Cables are cut, stripped, crimped, sleeved and marked to your drawing. Crimps are pull-tested on a sample basis and continuity checked, and connectors are verified fully seated before any retainer or adhesive is added. On enclosure and mechanical work we watch fit and gap, and protect cosmetic surfaces with gloves and padded benches so parts reach packing unscratched.
Functional test and burn-in
Functional test runs to your test specification, or to one we write and you approve, exercising functions and interfaces under simulated operating conditions. Results are recorded against the unit serial number. Where reliability matters, units go on burn-in: powered continuously at a defined temperature and load for a set time to screen early failures, then retested afterwards, with both sets of results filed.
Programming and serialisation
Production programming, serial numbering and label printing are quoted job by job rather than carried at a standard rate, so name the device and firmware image, the numbering scheme and the label artwork in the RFQ and they are priced with the build.
Test fixtures
We build test fixtures and assembly locating fixtures. Test points, clamping method and pass or fail criteria are agreed with you before the fixture is made, and the finished fixture is proved on sample units for repeatability. In service, fixtures are checked and calibrated on a schedule, worn probes and intermittent contacts are replaced, and the check record is kept with the fixture. If you already have a fixture, ship it with the kit and we will run it.
Packing and outgoing inspection
Packing follows your specification, including inner trays, ESD bags, desiccant, manuals and accessories. Carton markings and labels are printed to your artwork. Before shipment each batch is sampled for appearance, function, accessory count and label accuracy, the packing list is checked against the contents of each carton, and the inspection record ships with the goods.
